Shakespeare uses a rich and varied vocabulary to express and explore his works’ themes.
Students will use this worksheet to better understand the meaning of words commonly
used in Shakespeare’s time that are related in some way to the themes of revenge and guilt.
You can pass out the worksheet before students begin reading Hamlet and instruct them to
work on the chart as they read, or you can use the worksheet as a review activity.
